User names and passwords are case sensitive on the Dell computers! Be sure that the Caps Lock key is not pressed down when logging on!
When the student is unable to log on and his/her password and user name is correct, have them delete both the user name and password and type again. Possibly, the last person who used the computer has entered a space in the user name box.
There is a single logon for the file server and Internet on the Dell computers. It is no longer necessary to logon to the Internet separately. Users that sit at a Macintosh computer will still need to log on to the file server and Internet separately.
Be sure to log off of the Dell computers when you are finished. Because of roaming profiles, when you logon to a machine, everything is mapped to your files. If you forget to log off and someone else sits at that computer, they will have access to your files and they will be unable to save their work to their own server space.
Saving:
Be sure to save all of your work to the file server. You can access your work via the :H drive or the My Documents folder. Because of roaming profiles, the more you have saved to your desktop, the longer it will take for your settings to load.
Printing:
When a student logs on to the teacher computer any work the student wants printed will be sent to the IT Lab.
